Weather Outlook During 20 - 26 September 2023
During 20 - 22 Sep, the weak southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf while the easterly and southeasterly wind prevails over the Northeast the Central and the East. Thundershowers are likely in the country and isolated heavy rains are possible in the the East and the South. The wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf are about 1 meter,above 2 meters in thundershowers. During 23 - 26 Sep, the monsoon trough lies across the lower Central, Bangkok and vicinity, the East and the upper South. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf will strengthen. Isolated heavy rains are likely in the Central, Bangkok and Vicinity, the East region. Isolated very heavy rains are likely in the South. The wind and wave in the Andaman Sea are 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters in thundershowers while the wave in the Gulf has about 1 meter high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
During 23 - 26 Sep, people in the Central, Bangkok and vicinity, the East and the South should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period.
