Weather Outlook During 27 September ? 3 October 2023
During 27 ? 29 Sep, the low-pressure cell is expected to move pass Thailand along the monsoon trough to Myanmar. The rather strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. Heavy rains to isolated very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South. The wind and wave in the upper Andaman Sea are 2 - 3 meters high and above 3 meters in thundershowers while the wave in the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf has about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 30 Sep ? 3 Oct, the weak monsoon trough lies across the North and the upper Northeast. Meanwhile the southwest monsoon which prevails across the Andaman Sea the South and the Gulf will weaken. Thundershowers are likely to decrease in the country but heavy rains are possible in some areas.The wind and wave in the upper Andaman Sea are 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters in thundershowers while the wave in the lower Andaman Sea and the Gulf are about 1 meter high and 1 - 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
People should beware of gusty winds and heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore during 27 - 29 Sep.
