During 6 ? 8 Oct, the monsoon trough lies across the North, the Northeast, and the Central while the low-pressure cell cover the west of Thailand. The southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. Isolated heavy to heavy rains are likely in the country. The wind and wave in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf are 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 9 ? 12 Oct, the monsoon trough will move down to lie across the Central, the East and the upper South while the moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to over the Northeast and the South China Sea. In addition, the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. Continuous rainfalls with gusty wind and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the country. The wind and wave in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf about 1 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. Typhoon ?KOINU? over the upper South China Sea is expected to move near the coast of southeastern China during 9 Oct and then weaken to depression storm respectively. This storm has no direct effect to Thailand?s weather.
Caution
People in Thailand should beware of gusty winds, heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands and beware of severe conditions by keeping off an open area, big trees and unsecured billboards. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
