Weather Outlook During 12 - 18 October 2023
During 13 - 14 Oct, the high-pressure system over the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea will weaken. While the monsoon trough will lie across the Central, the East and the lower Northeast into the low pressure cell over the central South China Sea. At the same time, the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. Isolated thundershower with heavy rains are likely in the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East regions. The wave in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf are about 1 meter high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 15 - 18 Oct, the monsoon trough lie across the Central, the East and the upper South. Meanwhile, the low pressure cell over the South China Sea will move through Vietnam, the East and the upper Gulf along the monsoon trough. The southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. More rain is likely in the the Central, the East, the lower Northeast and the South with heavy to very heavy rains in someplaces. The wave in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. The wave in the lower Gulf are about 1 meter high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
People in Thailand should beware of gusty winds, heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands and beware of severe conditions by keeping off an open area, big trees and unsecured billboards throughout the period. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers during 15 - 18 Oct.
