General Situation

The strong high-pressure system from China extend to upper Thailand with cool to cold with strong wind. A decrease in temperature by 2-4 C is likely in the North and a decrease in temperature by 1-3 C. is likely in the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the upper South. On mountaintops of the North and the Northeast, cold to very cold and isolated frost is forecast. The minimum temperature of the North mountaintops is in range of 3-11 C while the Northeast ranges by 7-12 C. People in the country should keep healthy due to cool to cold weather and beware of fire due to strong winds and dry air. The moderate northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South will strengthen with isolated thundershowers in the lower South (east coast). The strong wind forces the waves in the Gulf up to 2- 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. People along the South (east coast) shore should beware of inshore surges. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the Gulf should keep ashore In addition, an active low-pressure cell over the lower South China Sea will move pass the lower South of Thailand and Malaysia lead to isolated heavy to very heavy rains in the lower South. The strengthening northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman Sea lead to the wind and waves in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea will strengthen during 22-25 December 2023.

Eastern
Cool with strong wind and 1-3 C drop in temperature. Minimum temperature 17-22 C. Maximum temperature 28-32 C. Northeasterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters offshore.
Southern (East Coast)
Upper part: Morning cool with strong wind and 2-3 C drop in temperature. Minimum temperature 17-23 C. Maximum temperature 29-34 C. Lower part: Scattered thundershowers mostly in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 31-34 C. Northeasterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Isolated thundershowers mostly in Phangnga, Phuket and Krabi. Minimum temperature about 25 C. Maximum temperature 32-35 C. Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter, 1-2 meters offshore and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Cool with strong wind and 2-3 C drop in temperature. Minimum temperature 20-22 C. Maximum temperature 27-30 C. Northeasterly winds 15-30 km/hr.
