Meanwhile the westerly wind at high altitude prevails over the upper North with 1 ? 2 ?C drop in temperature. On mountaintops of the North and the Northeast, cold to very cold are forecast. The minimum temperature of the North mountaintops is in range of 5 - 12 ?C with isolated frost while the Northeast ranges by 11 - 17 ?C. During 12 - 14 Jan, another moderate high pressure from China will extend to the Northeast and the South China Sea with the westerly trough will move pass the upper country. Thundershower will be forecast for the first few days before 1 ? 2 ?C drop in temperature are likely in the North and the Northeast while a slight drop of temperature is expected in the rest region except the South. On mountaintops of the North and the Northeast, cold to very cold are forecast. The minimum temperature of the North mountaintops is in range of 4 - 11 ?C with isolated frost while the Northeast ranges by 10 - 16 ?C. During 8 - 12 Jan, the northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South will weaken with more rain and isolated thundershowers in the lower South. The wind forces the waves up to 1 - 2 meters high in the lower Gulf, above 2 meters high in thundershower while the upper Gulf and the Andaman Sea, the waves are forecast about 1 meter high and above 1 meters high in thundershower and offshore. During 13 ? 14 Jan, the northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South will strengthen with more rain and isolated heavy rain in the lower South. The strengthening wind forces the waves in lower Gulf up to about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershower.
