General Situation

The weak high-pressure system covers the upper Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea. Morning cool with fog and an increase in temperature are likely in the country except the lower South. On mountaintops of the North, cold to very cold is forecast while the mountaintops of the Northeast, cool to cold and isolate frost are forecast. The minimum temperature of the North mountaintops is in range of 6-13 ?C while the Northeast ranges by 12-17 ?C. People in the country should keep healthy due to morning cool to cold weather. All transport take more caution in poor visibility. The northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South is weakening with less rains and isolated thundershowers in the lower South. During 12 - 15 Jan, another moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea with the westerly trough will move pass the upper country. Thundershower will be forecast for the first few days before 1 ? 2 ?C drop in temperature are likely in the North and the Northeast while a slightly drop in temperature is likely in the rest region except the South.

Northeastern
Morning cool with fog and a slightly rise in temperature. Minimum temperature 18-21 ?C. Maximum temperature 32-35 ?C. Cool to cold on the mountain top. Minimum temperature 12-17 ?C. Northeasterly winds 10-20 km/hr.
Central
Morning cool with fog and 1-2 ?C rise in temperature. Minimum temperature 21-24 ?C. Maximum temperature 34-36 ?C. Easterly winds 10-15 km/hr.
Eastern
Morning cool in the upper part with fog and 1-2 ?C rise in temperature. Minimum temperature 22-26 ?C. Maximum temperature 33-36 ?C. Easterly winds 10-30 km/hr. Wave below 1 meter and about 1 meter offshore.
Southern (East Coast)
Upper part: Morning cool and a slightly rise in temperature. Lower part: Isolated thundershowers mostly in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani and Narathiwat. Surat Thani upwards : Northeasterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Wave about 1 meter and above 1 meter high in thundershowers. Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards : Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. Minimum temperature 21-26 ?C. Maximum temperature 31-35 ?C.
Southern (West Coast)
Isolated thundershowers mostly in Phuket, Krabi and Trang. Minimum temperature 23-26 ?C. Maximum temperature 32-34 ?C. Northeasterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter, above 1 meter high in thundershowers and offshore.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Partly cloudy with morning fog. Minimum temperature 24-26 ?C. Maximum temperature 33-36 ?C. Easterly winds 10-15 km/hr.
