Weather Outlook During 11 ? 17 January 2024
During 12 - 17 Jan, another moderate high pressure from China will extend to the Northeast and the South China Sea with during 13 ?16 Jan, the westerly trough will move pass the upper country. Thunderstorm with gusty wind and hail will be forecast for the North and Northest before 1 ? 3 ?C drop in temperature while a slight drop of temperature is expected in the rest region except the South. On mountaintops of the North and the Northeast, cold to very cold are forecast. The minimum temperature of the North mountaintops is in range of 4 - 10 ?C while the Northeast ranges by 10 - 13 ?C. The northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South will strengthen with more rain and isolated heavy rain in the lower South. The strengthening wind forces the waves in lower Gulf up to about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershower.
Caution
People in the upper country should beware of thunderstorm, gusty winds and hails by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmer should prepare for crop's damage. During 15 ? 17 Jan, people in the lower south should beware of heavy rains. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period.
