General Situation

The southerly and southeasterly winds prevail over Thailand and the Gulf. An increasing in temperature and morning fog with day hot are likely in the upper country. Isolated thundershowers are forecast in the upper Northeast and the East while less rain in the South. Meanwhile the westerly wind at high altitude prevails over the North and the upper Northeast with morning cool to cold. People in the upper country should keep healthy due to variable weather and all transport takes more caution in poor visibility. During 9-13 Feb, the rather strong high-pressure system from China will extend to over the upper Thailand and the South China Sea. Meanwhile, the easterly and southeasterly winds prevail over the lower Northeast, the lower Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the upper South regions. Isolated thundershowers and strong wind are likely in the upper country for the first period with a decrease in temperature. The northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South is strengthening with more rains and isolated heavy rains in the upper South. The moderate wind forces the wave in the lower Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers, the wave in the upper Gulf up to about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. People in the upper country and the upper South should beware of the severe condition, gusty winds and strikes by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. All ships in the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the lower Gulf should keep ashore. People along the Gulf should beware of inshore surges.

Southern (East Coast)
Partly cloudy. Isolated thundershowers mostly in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Pattani and Narathiwat Minimum temperature 22-24 C. Maximum temperature 32-35 C. Southeasterly winds 10-30 km/hr. Wave below 1 meter and above 1 meter high in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Partly cloudy with day hot and isolated light rain. Minimum temperature 23-24 C. Maximum temperature 35-37 C. Easterly winds 10-30 km/hr. Wave below 1 meter, above 1 meter high offshore and in thundershowers.
