Weather Outlook During 19 - 25 March 2024
During 19 - 20 Mar, another moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to upper Thailand and the South China Sea while the easterly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country where hot to very hot weather occurs. Outbreak of summer storm are possible following with thunderstorms, gusty wind and hail including lightning strike are likely in the upper country for the first period and then a decrease in temperature. The easterly and southeasterly wind prevailing over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman Sea will strengthen with more rains in the South. The strengthening wind forces the waves in the lower Gulf up to 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 21 - 25 Mar, the heat low-pressure cell covers upper Thailand with hot and haze during the day. At the same time, the southerly and southeasterly winds prevail over the lower Northeast, the lower central and the East regions with isolated thundershowers while from 22 - 23 Mar the westerly trough from Myanmar will move pass the upper North, the upper Northeast and upper Laos with isolated thundershowers in the areas. The easterly and southeasterly wind prevailing over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman Sea will weaken with isolated thundershowers. The weakening wind and waves in the lower Gulf are likely about 1 meter high and above 1 meter high in thundershowers.
Caution
During 19 - 20 Mar, people in the upper country should stay safe from the severe weather conditions by keeping off outdoor places, large trees and unsecured buildings. Farmers should prevent for crops damage and animals danger. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
