During 28 - 29 May, the southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf while the low-pressure cell covers the Gulf of Tonkin. Thundershower and isolated heavy rain are likely in the country. During 30 May ? 3 Jun, the southwest monsoon prevailing across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen while the low-pressure cell remains over the Gulf of Tonkin. More rain and isolated heavy rain are likely in the country with very heavy rains in some places of the Northeast and the East. The waves are 1 - 2 meters high in the upper Andaman Sea and above 2 meters high in thundershowers while about 1 meter high in the lower Andaman Sea and the Gulf and above 2 meters in thundershowers. In addition, the tropical depression ?Remal? over southern Bangladesh is expected to downgrade to the active low-pressure cell. The typhoon ?Ewiniar? the east of Philippines is expected to move to the Pacific Ocean during 28?31 May. These storms are no direct effect on Thailand?s weather.
Caution
People should beware of heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All transport takes more caution when traveling through the thundershowers areas. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period.
