During 21 ? 26 Jun, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf while the monsoon trough will lie across the North and the Northeast. Meanwhile, the low-pressure cell over middle South China Sea will intensify. It is expected to make landfall over Hainan Island and the Gulf of Tonkin. More rains and isolated heavy rains are likely in the country while isolated very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast, the East and the South (west coast). The rather strong wind forces the wave in the Andaman Sea up to 2 - 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers, about 2 meters high in the upper Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. Afterward, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will weaken while monsoon trough will lie across the upper North, the upper Loas and the upper Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin with isolated thundershowers in the country and isolated heavy rains in the North and the South (west coast). The wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will be weaken, about 2 meters heighth in the upper Andaman, 1 - 2 meters heighth in the Gulf and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Caution
People should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and runoff, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore during 21 -26 Jun.
