Weather Outlook During 11 - 17 Jul 2024
During 12 ? 17 Jul, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen while during 14 ? 17 Jul, the strong monsoon trough will lie across the North and the Northeast of Thailand into an active low-pressure cell over the middle South China Sea with more rain and heavy rains in the country, very heavy rains in some areas of the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the South (west coast). The strengthening wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2 ? 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershower while the wind and waves in the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf are about 2 meters high in and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In addition, during 12 ? 13 Jul, the low pressure cell in the middle South China Sea will strengthen to an active low pressure cell. It is forecast to move to the coast of Vietnam during 14 ? 15 Jul.
Caution
During 12 ? 17 June, people in the country should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore during 14 - 17 Jul.
