Weather Outlook During 12 - 18 Jul 2024
During 12 ? 13 Jul, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen while, the low-pressure cell covers the upper Vietnam. Isolated heavy rains are likely in the country. The strengthening wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershower and offshore while the wind and waves in the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf are 1 - 2 meters high in and above 2 meters high in thundershowers and offshore. During 14 ? 18 Jul, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf is strengthening while the strong monsoon trough will lie across the North and the Northeast of Thailand into low-pressure cell over the middle South China Sea will intensify and expected to move to the coast of Vietnam during 15 ? 16 Jul. More rain and heavy rains in the country, very heavy rains in some areas of the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the South (west coast). The rather strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea up to 2 ? 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershower while the wind and waves in the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are about 2 meters high in and above 2 meters high in thundershowers and offshore.
Caution
People in the country should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore during 14 - 18 Jul.
