Weather Outlook During 24 - 30 Jul 2024
During 24 ? 26 Jul, the moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf while the low-pressure cell covers upper Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin. Thundershowers and isolated heavy rains are likely in the country while isolated very heavy rains are possible in the East and the western part of the North and the Central. The strengthening wind force the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are likely about 2 meters high while 1 - 2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 27 ? 30 Jul, the moderate monsoon trough will lie across the upper North and upper Laos into the low-pressure cell over upper VietNam and the Gulf of Tonkin while the moderate southwest monsoon remains over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. More rains and isolated heavy rains are likely in the country while isolated very heavy rains are possible in the eastern part of the North, and the upper Northeast. The moderate wind and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are likely about 2 meters high while 1 - 2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In addition, the typhoon ?Gaemi? over the Pacific Ocean is expected to move through Republic of Taiwan and will make landfall over the eastern part of China during 24 ? 26 Jul. This storm has no direct effect on Thailand?s weather.
Caution
During 24 ? 26 Jul, people in the East and the western part of the North and the Central and during 27 ? 30 Jul, people in the country should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers througthout the period.
