The moderate monsoon trough will lie across the upper North and Laos into the low-pressure cell over upper Vietnam while the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf throughout the period. Isolated heavy rains are in the North, the upper Northeast and the East. During 16 ? 17 Aug, there are convergence of the southeasterly and the southwesterly winds in the upper level in the Northeast region. More rains with heavy rains will be in many places of the country. In addition, the typhoon (AMPIL), the south of Japan will move through eastern of Japan during 16 ? 17 Aug. This storm with no effect on Thailand?s weather.
Caution
People in Thailand especially in the North and the Northeast should beware of heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should keep off thundershowers throughout the period.
