Weather Outlook During 2 - 8 Sep 2024
During 2 ? 7 Sep, the moderate monsoon trough moves down to lie across the lower North, the Central and the Northeast of Thailand while the moderate southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, the South, the East and the Gulf is strengthening. More rains and isolated heavy rains are likely in the country and isolated very heavy rains are possible in the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South. After that on 8 Sep, the moderate monsoon trough will move up to lie across upper Myanmar, Laos and upper Vietnam while the rather strong southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will weaken. Less rains are likely in the country while isolated heavy rains are possible in the upper Northeast, the East and the South(west coast). During 2 ? 3 Sep, the moderate wind and wave in the Andaman Sea: Ranong upward and the upper Gulf are likely about 2 meters high, Phangnga downward is 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 4 ? 8 Sep, the strengthening wind and wave in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are likely 2 ? 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Gulf, the waves have 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
During 2 ? 7 Sep, people in Thailand especially the lower North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands.
