Thailand Daily Weather Forecast
General Situation
17 September 2024
The monsoon trough lies across the North, the upper Central and the Northeast of Thailand into the low-pressure cell over the coast of middle Vietnam while the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South, the Central, the East and the Gulf. Isolated heavy rains are likely the country and isolated very heavy rains are possible in the East and the South (west coast) regions. People in these areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. The rather strong winds force the waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Gulf, the waves have about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers and offshore. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershower, small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore. The tropical depression over upper Philippines is expected to move to the upper Soutn China Sea by tomorrow (17 Sep 2024). This storm is forecast to intensify and will make landfall over upper Vietnam during 20-21 September 2024. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the North and the Northeast of Thailand.
