General Situation

The strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South, the East and the Gulf. Meanwhile, the tropical depression covers the upper South China Sea. It is expected to make landfall over middle Vietnam during 19 ? 20 September 2024. Thundershowers are likely in the country and isolated heavy rains are likely in the East while isolated very heavy rains are possible in the Northeast and the South regions. People in these areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. The strong winds force the waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-4 meters high and above 4 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Gulf, the waves have about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers and offshore. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershower, small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore.

Scattered thundershowers mostly in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun. Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 33-35 C. Variable winds 10-15 km./hr.
Northeastern
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani. Minimum temperature 23-26 C. Maximum temperature 28-33 C. Variable winds 10-20 km./hr.
Central
Scattered thundershowers in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, and Samut Songkhram Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram. Minimum temperature 23-27 C. Maximum temperature 32-35 C. Southwesterly winds 10-25 km./hr.
Eastern
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rains with strong wind in Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 29-34 C. Southwesterly winds 20-45 km./hr. Wave height 2-4 meters and above 4 meters high in thundershowers.
Southern (East Coast)
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains with strong wind in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Songkhla. Minimum temperature 23-26 C. Maximum temperature 28-33 C. Surat Thani upwards : Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards : Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters high in thundershowers and offshore.
Southern (West Coast)
Fairly widespread thundershowers and scattered heavy to very heavy rains with strong wind in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, and Satun. Minimum temperature 24-25 C. Maximum temperature 26-29 C Southwesterly winds 20-45 km/hr. Wave height 2-4 meters and above 4 meters high in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Scattered thundershowers. Minimum temperature 25-27 C. Maximum temperature 31-33 C. Southwesterly winds 10-25 km./hr.
