Weather Outlook During 13 - 19 December 2024
During 13 - 17 Dec, the another rather strong high-pressure system from China extend to upper Thailand, the upper South and the South China Sea with isolated rains for the first period before a decrease in temperature and morning cool to cold with strong wind. A decrease in temperature by 5 - 7 C is forecast for the Northeast while a decrease in temperature by 3 - 6 C is forecast for the rest regions except the lower South. The rather strong northeast monsoon prevail over the Gulf and the South while the low-pressure cell over the lower South China Sea will move pass the lower Gulf the lower South and Malaysia during 13 ? 16 Dec. Scattered heavy rains to isolated very heavy rains are likely in the South. The strengthening wind force the waves in the Gulf up to 2 - 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. During 18 - 19 Dec, the high pressure area which cover the upper country, the upper South and the South China Sea will weaken. 1 - 2 C rise in temperature. Morning cool to cold with fog will be il the upper country. The northeast monsoon which prevail across the gulf and the South will be moderated to rather strong. The waves are about 2 meters in the lower gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
During 13 - 16 Dec, people in the South should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. People along the Gulf shore should beware of inshore surges. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, smalls boat in the Gulf keep ashore.
