General Situation

The southerly and southeasterly winds bringing moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and East regions where hot occurs in the country causing thundershower are likely in the upper country. People in the upper country should stay healthy due to the changeable weather and beware of severe conditions. Farmers should take precautions to protect crops and animals from potential damage. The moderate northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South with thundershowers in the South. The winds forces the waves in the lower Gulf up to 1-2 meters high, about 1 meter high in the upper Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. In addtion, during 23-25 Feb, the moderate to rather strong high-pressure system from China will extend to the Northeast and the South China Sea leading to the southerly and southeasterly winds and the southeasterly wind bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country. Meanwhile, the westerly trough from Myanmar will move pass the North, the Northeast and upper Laos where hot weather occurs in the upper country. Thunderstorms, gusty wind and hail including lightning strike are likely in some areas of the upper country for the first period after that temperature will decrease. More rains and isolated heavy to very heavy rains arelikely in the South. The strengthening wind force the wave in the lower Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers

Northeastern

Morning cool. Isolated thundershowers mostly in Loei, Chaiyaphum and Nakhon Ratchasima. Minimum temperature 19-23 C. Maximum temperature 32-35 C. Cool to cold on the mountaintops: Minimum temperature 13-17 C. Easterly winds 10-20 km./hr.

Central

Hot during day. Isolated thundershowers with gust mostly in Uthai Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram and Samut Sakhon. Minimum temperature 22-24 C. Maximum temperature 35-37 C. Southeasterly winds 10-15 km./hr.

Eastern

Isolated thundershowers mostly in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 34-36 C. Southeasterly winds 10-30 km./hr. Wave below 1 meter, about 1 meter offshore and above 2 meters in thundershowers.

Southern (East Coast)

Isolated thundershowers mostly in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, and Songkhla. Minimum temperature 21-26 C. Maximum temperature 31-35 C. Surat Thani upwards : Southeasterly winds 15-30 km./hr. Wave height about 1 meter and above 2 meters in thundershowers. Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards : Easterly winds 15-35 km./hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.

Southern (West Coast)

Isolated thundershowers mostly in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang. Minimum temperature 23-26 C. Maximum temperature 33-36 C. Easterly winds 10-30 km./hr. Wave below 1 meter, about 1 meter offshore and above 2 meters in thundershowers.

Bangkok Metropolitan

Isolated thundershowers. Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 35-36 C. Southerly winds 10-15 km./hr.
