During 12 ? 14 Apr, the moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea leads the easterly and southeasterly winds prevail over the upper country while hot to very hot weather occurs. Outbreaks of summer storms are possible following with thunderstorms, gusty wind, hail and isolated heavy rains including lightning strike are likely in the upper country for the first period. During 15 ? 17 Apr, the moderate high-pressure system which covers the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea will weaken with increasing in temperature. Meanwhile, the southerly and southeasterly winds still prevail over the upper country with thundershowers. For the South, during 11 ? 13 Apr, the northwesterly wind prevails over the Andaman Sea and the South with isolaeted heavy rains in the Andaman Sea. The waves in the Andaman Sea are 1 ? 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In the Gulf, the waves are likely about 1 meter high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 14 ? 17 Apr, the easterly and the southeasterly winds prevail over the Gulf and the South with thundershowers and isolated heavy rains. The wind and waves in the Gulf are 1 ? 2 meters, the Andaman Sea are likely about 1 meter high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
During 12 - 14 Apr, People in the upper country avoid travelling through areas experiencing thunderstorms or roads prone to recurrent flooding, especially in low-lying areas with limited drainage capacity, which may result in short-term waterlogging and should keep healthy due to changeable weather and beware of severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Outdoor activities during the Songkran Festival should be approached with extra caution. For farmers should prevent for crops damage and animals danger.
