Subject: Tropical Storm “KETSANA”

At 04.00 a.m. today, a low pressure cell downgraded from tropical depression “KETSANA” has covered Kanchanaburi province. It is expected to move to Myanmar. Abundant rain with heavy rainfalls is likely in much of the lower North, the Central and the upper South. People in the risky areas along foothills near waterways and in lowlands should beware of flooding during this period. This condition alerts for provinces of Tak, Kamphangphet, Phicit, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lop Buri, Sara Buri, Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chanthaburi, Trat, Phetchaburi, Ranong and Phangnga.

Wind and wave are likely 2-3 meters in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. All ships in the areas should proceed with caution and small boats keep ashore during this period.

Central Part Widespread rain and heavy falls in many areas

of Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Lop Buri, Sara Buri, Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri and Ratchaburi.

Eastern Part Scattered rain and isolated heavy rain

in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri and Chon Buri.

Westerly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters.

Southern Part (East Coast) Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain

in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon and Surat Thani.

Southern Part (West Coast) Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain

in Ranong and Phangnga.
