Weather Forecast During 15-18 Jan, an intense high pressure system from China will extend its ridge to cover upper Thailand. Cooler weather. The northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South will strengthen. Increasing in rainfalls is likely in the South and wind wave in the Gulf will strengthen. After that during 19-21 Jan, the high pressure system will weaken causing increasing in fog in the areas and isolated rain.
While during 18-21 Jan, a low pressure in the lower South China Sea will move near upper Malaysia. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in the lower Southern Thailand.
Warning During this period, all ships in the Gulf should proceed with caution and small boat in the lower Gulf from Surat Thani southward should keep ashore. During 18-20 Jan, people in the lower South should beware of flooding condition.
Northern Part During 15-17 Jan, morning fog. The upper portion: cold, minimum temperature 11-15 oC. The lower portion: cool, minimum temperature 16-20 oC.
On the Mountaintops: cold to very cold, minimum temperature 6-12 oC.
Easterly winds 10-30 km/hr. During 18-21 Jan, increasing in fog and isolated rain.
