Bangkok--28 May--a Luxury Collection Hotel
The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok has won three categories in the Asia Pacific division of the International Hotel Awards 2019-2020, taking the Thailand titles for Luxury Hotel, Luxury Sustainable Hotel, and Luxury Wedding Venue.
"It's such a great honor and we are thrilled to receive these three prestigious awards," says Choo Leng Goh, general manager of The Athenee Hotel.
"The hotel was rebranded to Luxury Collection in October 2017, so winning the title of Luxury Hotel is really a fantastic endorsement.
"We are also proud to receive the Luxury Sustainable Hotel award. The Athenee Hotel was the first hotel in the world that achieved 20121 ISO standard, in 2013, and since then we have absorbed sustainable activities into every aspect of the hotel operation.
"Last but not least, winning the Luxury Wedding Venue award is a matter of great pride to our team, who work tirelessly to cater for local and international weddings from around the world. We have a total space of 5,600 sqm, with 28 function rooms including two large ballrooms."
The awards presentation will take place in Bangkok on 15 May 2019.
Developed to identify, highlight and reward excellence throughout the global hospitality industry, the International Hotel Awards are long established and are split into regions covering the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe & Africa, Arabia and UK.
Participants enter at their relevant national level and are judged by a highly experienced team of professionals. The national winners then go on to compete at a regional level. The regional winners are automatically entered into the overall International Awards, which ultimately determine the world's finest resorts and hotels.
The International Hotel Awards are regarded as the definitive awards programme and focus on both residential and commercial sectors.
