ด้วยเมื่อวันที่ ๔ มีนาคม ๒๕๕๔ นาย Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Neioti Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi หัวหน้าพรรค Human Rights Protection Party ของรัฐเอกราชซามัว ได้รับเสียงข้างมากในการเลือกตั้งทั่วไป จึงได้ขึ้นดำรงตำแหน่งนายกรัฐมนตรี และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศและการค้าของซามัว
ในการนี้ นายอภิสิทธิ์ เวชชาชีวะ นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายกษิต ภิรมย์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีข้อความแสดงความยินดีถึงนาย Malielegaoi ดังนี้
