ตามที่ได้เกิดพายุทอร์นาโดซึ่งมีความรุนแรงเป็นอันดับสองในประวัติศาสตร์ของสหรัฐอเมริกาใน มลรัฐแอละแบมา มิสซิสซิปปี จอร์เจีย เทนเนสซี นอร์ทแคโรไลนา และเวอร์จิเนียตอนใต้ ส่งผลให้บ้านเรือนได้รับความเสียหายและมีผู้เสียชีวิตเป็นจำนวนมาก นั้น
ในการนี้ นายอภิสิทธิ์ เวชชาชีวะ นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายกษิต ภิรมย์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความเสียใจต่อความสูญเสียดังกล่าวไปยังประธานาธิบดีสหรัฐฯ และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสหรัฐฯ ตามลำดับ ดังนี้

Mr. President,
It is with profound sorrow to learn of the recent tornadoes that ravaged the states of Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia, causing the loss of hundreds of American lives and severe damage to properties.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I would like to extend our most sincere condolences to you and to those who have lost their love ones as the consequence of this tragic event. Our hearts also go to those who have been injured and have lost their homes. We wish them a speedy recovery.
Please accept, Mr. President, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration.

Dear Secretary Clinton,
I am truly sadden to learn of the loss of lives and the damage to properties brought about by the devastating tornado which struck across Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and parts of Virginia.
I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the bereaved families and those who were affected in any way from this natural disaster. We in Thailand wish them a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayer are with them during this difficult time.
