ตามที่ได้เกิดเหตุการณ์พายุทอร์นาโดในมลรัฐมิสซูรี เมื่อวันที่ ๒๒ พฤษภาคม ที่ผ่านมา ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิต และได้รับบาดเจ็บ รวมถึงอาคารบ้านเรือนได้รับความเสียหายเป็นจำนวนมาก นั้น
ในการนี้ นายอภิสิทธิ์ เวชชาชีวะ นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงประธานาธิบดีสหรัฐฯ และนายกษิต ภิรมย์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสหรัฐฯ ดังนี้

It is with profound sorrow that I learned of another series of devastating tornadoes that had struck the town of Joplin, Missouri, and parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas since Sunday, 22 May 2011, causing massive destruction to property and the loss of over a hundred lives.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I wish to extend once again my heartfelt sympathy to the U.S. Government and the people who have been affected by this tragic natural disaster. Our hearts are with those who passed away and our warmest thoughts for their families and those who survive. We believe that the resilience of the American people will bring about a speedy recovery.
Please accept, Mr. President, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration.
