ตามที่ตุรกีได้จัดการเลือกตั้งทั่วไปเมื่อวันที่ ๑๒ มิถุนายน ๒๕๕๔ และเมื่อวันที่ ๖ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๕๔ นาย Abdullah Gul ประธานาธิบดีตุรกีได้ให้ความเห็นชอบต่อรายชื่อคณะรัฐมนตรีชุดใหม่ โดยมีนาย Recep Tayyip Erdogan ดำรงตำแหน่งนายกรัฐมนตรีตุรกีต่อเนื่องกันเป็นสมัยที่ ๓ และนาย Ahmet Davutoglu ดำรงตำแหน่งรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศตุรกีอีกครั้ง
ในการนี้ นายอภิสิทธิ์ เวชชาชีวะ นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้ส่งข้อความสารแสดงความยินดีไปยัง นายกรัฐมนตรีตุรกี และนายกษิต ภิรมย์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้ส่งข้อความสารแสดงความยินดีไปยังรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศตุรกี ดังนี้
๑. ข้อความสารจากนายกรัฐมนตรีไทยถึงนายกรัฐมนตรีตุรกี

I am confident that my successor will continue working closely with Your Excellency to achieve the “Strategic Partnership” relations between our two countries, both at bilateral and multilateral levels.
