ตามที่ได้เกิดเหตุการณ์ระเบิดที่กรุงโมกาดิชู เมื่อวันที่ ๔ ตุลาคม ๒๕๕๔ ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตกว่า ๗๐ ราย และได้รับบาดเจ็บเป็นจำนวนมาก นั้น
ในการนี้ นายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสาธารณรัฐโซมาเลีย ดังนี้

Excellency,
I am deeply shocked and saddened by the terrible bomb attack in Mogadishu, on 4 October 2011, which caused considerable deaths and injuries. The Royal Thai Government strongly condemns this act of terrorism and remains firmly committed to cooperate closely with the international community in global fight against terrorism. This violent attack can never be justified, no matter the cause.
On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the Thai people, I wish to express our deepest sympathies and condolences to the victims and their families. I join your nation in mourning in this time of sorrow.
