ข้อความสารแสดงความเสียใจต่อการสวรรคตของสมเด็จพระราชาธิบดีแห่งราชอาณาจักรตองกา

ตามที่สมเด็จพระราชาธิบดี George Tupou V แห่งราชอาณาจักรตองกา ได้เสด็จสวรรคตเมื่อวันที่ ๑๘ มีนาคม ๒๕๕๕ นั้น

ในการนี้ นางสาวยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความเสียใจถึง Lord Siale’ataonga Tu’ivakano นายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศตองกา ดังนี้

๑. ข้อความสารแสดงความเสียใจจากนายกรัฐมนตรีถึงนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศตองกา

“Excellency,

On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, I have the honour to express my sincere condolences to the Tongan Royal Family and the people of Tonga for the passing of His Majesty King George Tupou V.

His Majesty King George Tupou V was loved and respected by not only the people of Tonga, but also the people of Thailand. His attendance at the 60th Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's Accession to the Throne in June 2006 was well remembered by the Thai people. During his reign, the relationship between our two Royal Families and the peoples has been close and cordial.

His Majesty the King’s death is truly a great loss for Tonga. The Thai people share the grief of all Tongans at this sad time.

Accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of His Majesty King George Tupou V. On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, I have the honour to extend to you and, through you, to the Tongan Royal Family and the people of Tonga our deepest condolences for this great loss.

His Majesty the King will be remembered for his tireless work and dedication to improve the welfare of his people, and to promote the close relations between our two countries.

His Majesty the King’s death is truly a great loss for the people of Tonga. I join them in mourning the loss of this greatly beloved King.
