ตามที่นาย Francois Hollande ได้รับเลือกตั้งให้เป็นประธานาธิบดีฝรั่งเศสคนใหม่ และได้ประกาศแต่งตั้งให้นาย Jean-Marc Ayrault ดำรงตำแหน่งนายกรัฐมนตรีฝรั่งเศสคนใหม่ และนาย Laurent Fabius ดำรงตำแหน่งรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศคนใหม่
ในการนี้ นางสาวยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความยินดีถึงนาย Ayrault นายกรัฐมนตรีฝรั่งเศส และนายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความยินดีถึงนาย Fabius รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศคนใหม่ ในโอกาสที่ทั้งสองคนเข้ารับตำแหน่งใหม่ ดังนี้

Since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and France in 1856, our two countries have succeeded in developing our close and mutually beneficial cooperation into strategic partnership in every sphere and at every level, through the implementation of the Thai-French Second Joint Plan of Action (2010-2014).
