โนโอกาสครบรอบ ๕๒ ปีการเฉลิมฉลองเอกราชของสหพันธ์สาธารณรัฐไนจีเรีย เมื่อวันที่ ๑ ตุลาคม ๒๕๕๕ นางสาวยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรีได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความยินดีถึงประธานาธิบดีไนจีเรีย และนายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความยินดีถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศไนจีเรีย ดังนี้

I have the honour to extend, on behalf of the Royal Thai Government and Thai people, my warmest congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the Independence Day of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Thailand and Nigeria have always enjoyed cordial ties and constructive cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. It is also noted with great pleasure that the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Federal Republic of Nigeria will fall on 1 November this year. I, therefore, look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to foster our relations and cooperation for the prosperity and mutual benefit of our two countries in the years to come.
