ตามที่ได้มีเหตุการณ์ระเบิดระหว่างการแข่งขันบอสตันมาราธาน ที่เมืองบอสตัน มลรัฐแมสซาชูเซตส์ เมื่อวันที่ ๑๕ เมษายน ๒๕๕๖ (เวลาสหรัฐฯ) ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย ๓ คนและผู้บาดเจ็บกว่า ๑๗๐ คน นั้น
นางสาวยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจต่อเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าวถึงนายบารัค โอบามา (The Honorable Barack Obama) ประธานาธิบดีสหรัฐอเมริกา และนายจอห์น เคอร์รี่ (The Honorable John Kerry) รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ตามลำดับ ดังนี้

“Honorable President,
I am deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the bombing incident during the Boston Marathon which resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians and critical injuries.
On behalf of the Government and people of Thailand, I have the honour to extend my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to all who have been affected by this tragedy. Our hearts and minds are with the people of the United States in these trying times.
Thailand strongly condemns this senseless act of terror against innocent civilians. We hope that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will soon be brought to justice.

๒. สารแสดงความเสียใจจากรองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศถึง รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา
“Mr. Secretary,
I was deeply shocked to learn of the bombing incident in Boston, Massachusetts, during the Boston Marathon on 15 April 2013 that caused the deaths of 3 innocent civilians and more than 140 injuries, including children. On behalf of the Government and people of Thailand, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy and condolences, through you, to the Government and people of the United States of America on this senseless tragedy.
Thailand deeply deplores any act of violence against innocent civilians. We fully support the efforts of the United States Government to swiftly bring the perpetrators of this terrible crime to justice.
In this time of sadness and bereavement, allow me to extend to Your Excellency and, through you,
to the families and friends of all who have suffered losses in this incident, my most sincere condolences.
