ด้วยเมื่อวันที่ ๒๔ เมษายน ๒๕๕๖ ได้เกิดเหตุอาคารโรงงานถล่มที่เมือง Savar ชานกรุงธากา ประเทศบังกลาเทศ ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตกว่า ๑๗๐ ราย และบาดเจ็บกว่า ๑,๒๐๐ คน ในการนี้ นางสาวยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงนายกรัฐมนตรี และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศบังกลาเทศ ดังนี้

“Excellency, I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of lives and casualties caused by the collapse of a factory building in Savar on Wednesday, 24 April 2013. On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, I wish to extend to Your Excellency, and through you, to the bereaved families affected by this incident my deep condolences and sympathy.
