ตามที่ได้เกิดเหตุอุทกภัยในภาคใต้และภาคตะวันออกของเยอรมนี จนส่งผลกระทบต่อชีวิตและทรัพย์สินของชาวเยอรมันจำนวนมาก ในการนี้ นางสาวยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศเยอรมนีตามลำดับ ดังนี้

“Excellency,
I am deeply saddened to learn of the severe floods in the eastern and southern states of Germany, which have caused loss of lives as well as extensive damage to properties in the affected areas.
On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, I wish to express my deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency, and through you, to the bereaved families of those who were affected by this disaster. I am confident that, under your able guidance, Germany will quickly and fully recover from this natural disaster. The Royal Thai Government stands to provide whatever assistance and support we can to Germany.
