ตามที่ได้เกิดอุบัติเหตุรถไฟตกรางที่แคว้นกาลิเซียทางตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือของสเปน เมื่อวันที่ ๒๔ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๕๖ ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิต ๘๐ ราย และได้รับบาดเจ็บอีกกว่า ๑๐๐ ราย นางสาวยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รองนายกรัฐมนตรี และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสเปน ตามลำดับ ดังนี้

I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of lives and injuries caused by the train derailment in the Galicia region of Spain on 24 July 2013.
On behalf of the Government and the people of Thailand, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency and, through you, to the bereaved families of the victims and those who were affected by this tragic accident.
