ตามที่ได้เกิดเหตุแผ่นดินไหวรุนแรงที่เมือง Awaran ชายแดนปากีสถาน-อิหร่าน ในรัฐบาโลจิสถานของปากีสถาน ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย ๒๗๐ คน บาดเจ็บมากกว่า ๔๐๐ คน และบ้านเรือนได้รับความเสียหายจำนวนมาก นางสาวยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงนายกรัฐมนตรีปากีสถาน และนายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศปากีสถาน ดังนี้
I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives and casualties caused by the earthquake incident in Awaran, Balochistan Province of Pakistan on Tuesday, 24th September 2013.
On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, I wish to extend my sincere sympathy and condolences to Your Excellency and, through you, to the bereaved families of those who were affected by this disaster. We are deeply grieved by the continuing rise in death toll and number of those injured.
In this hour of tragedy and loss, Thailand stands ready to provide our friends in Pakistan with assistance and support.
