ตามที่เกิดเหตุการณ์คนร้ายจับตัวประกันที่ร้าน Lindt Chocolate Caf? นครซิดนีย์ โดยผลจากเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าวส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิต ๒ รายและได้รับบาดเจ็บ ๕ ราย นั้น พลเอก ประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงนายกรัฐมนตรีออสเตรเลีย และพลเอก ธนะศักดิ์ ปฏิมาประกร รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศออสเตรเลีย ดังนี้

I have learnt about Sydney siege at Lindt Chocolate Caf? in Martin Place on 15 December 2014 and was saddened for two decreased hostages and several wounded people.
On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, I would like to convey to Your Excellency and, through you, to the bereaved families of the victims my deepest sympathy and condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the families of all the victims at this difficult time.

๒. สารแสดงความเสียใจของรองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศออสเตรเลีย
I was shocked and deeply saddened by recent Sydney siege incident at Lindt Chocolate Caf? in Martin Place on 15 December 2014 which resulted in the death of two hostages and the injuries of many innocent people.
At this moment of sorrow, I would like to convey my profound condolences and sympathy to Your Excellency and, through you, to the bereaved families of the victims as well as those who were affected by this incident. Thailand has joined international communities to condemn this senseless of violence.
