ตามที่ นายลี กวน ยู อดีตนายกรัฐมนตรี สิงคโปร์ได้เข้ารับการรักษาอาการปอดบวมอย่างรุนแรงที่โรงพยาบาล Singapore General Hospital และขณะนี้อยู่ระหว่างการรักษาตัวใน ICU โดยมีอาการทรงตัว นั้น พลเอกประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี และพลเอกธนะศักดิ์ ปฏิมาประกร รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีสารอวยพรถึงนายกรัฐมนตรี สิงคโปร์และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ สิงคโปร์ ตามลำดับ ดังนี้

Dear Prime Minister Lee,

I have learned that His Excellency Mr. Lee Kuan Yew has been hospitalized for pneumonia. I am heartened that he is now in stable condition. I wish to extend my best wishes, through you, to His Excellency for his full and speedy recovery. I am confident that under the close care of medical doctors, His Excellency will recover to full health.
