เนื่องด้วยวันที่ ๑๗ มีนาคม ๒๕๕๘ เป็นวันรำลึกนักบุญแพทริก (Feast of St. Patrick / St. Patrick’s Day) ซึ่งถือเป็นวันชาติของไอร์แลนด์ พลเอกประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี และพลเอกธนะศักดิ์ ปฏิมาประกร รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีสารแสดงความยินดีถึงนายกรัฐมนตรีไอร์แลนด์และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศและการค้าไอร์แลนด์ ดังนี้

I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency, and through you, to the people of Ireland my warmest congratulations on the auspicious occasion of St. Patrick’s Day.
Though our countries are parted by long geographical distances, our relations have grown noticeably in the past few years, especially in trade, tourism, and education. Indeed, as we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the official establishment of our diplomatic relations this year, I look forward to deepening the cordial relations that exist between us for the mutual prosperity of our two nations and peoples.

๒. สารจากรองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศและการค้าไอร์แลนด์
I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency my sincere felicitations and best wishes on the auspicious occasion of St. Patrick’s Day.
This year is particularly auspicious, as our countries celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the official establishment of our diplomatic relations. The anniversary was heralded by the royal visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to Ireland last year, a first for our royal family. Other areas of Thai-Irish relations are also growing from strength to strength. I am also very pleased to note that our trade is flourishing, our peoples are travelling more frequently between our countries, while cooperation in education and research is developing apace.
Most importantly, I am pleased to welcome the opening of the Irish Embassy in Bangkok. I am certain that the new Embassy will be able to ably fulfil its role as the bridge between Bangkok and Dublin to draw us ever closer together.
