ตามที่เมื่อวันที่ ๓๑ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๖๐ ได้เกิดเหตุระเบิดรุนแรงจากระเบิดรถยนต์ (Vehicle Bomb) ในบริเวณพื้นที่ของคณะทูต (Diplomatic Zone) ในกรุงคาบูล ประเทศอัฟกานิสถาน ส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตและได้รับบาดเจ็บจำนวนมาก นั้น
พลเอก ประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายดอน ปรมัตถ์วินัย รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความเสียใจถึง ดร. อับดุลลา อับดุลลา หัวหน้าฝ่ายบริหารอัฟกานิสถาน และนายซาลาฮุดดิน รับบานี่ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศอัฟกานิสถาน ตามลำดับ โดยมีรายละเอียด ดังนี้

I am deeply saddened to learn of the horror attack at the diplomatic area of the Afghan capital, Kabul, on 31 May 2017 that caused at least 80 people lost their lives and 350 injured.
On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, I would like to convey to Your Excellency and, through you, to the families of the victims our profound condolences and sympathy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during the time of sorrow.

I have learnt with deep sorrow of the large loss of life and injuries caused by the brutal attack at the diplomatic quarter in Kabul on 31 May 2017.
I would like to convey my heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency and, through you, to the bereaved families of the victims and those who were affected by this heinous attack.
