1. Congratulatory Message from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand:
On the auspicious occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal on 30 November 2019, I have the honour and great pleasure to extend my warmest congratulations to you and the people of Nepal.
Thailand and Nepal are bound by deeply rooted religious and cultural affinities dating back many centuries, which have provided a solid foundation for our cordial ties. Over the past six decades of diplomatic relations, our bilateral relations have grown from strength to strength at all levels and in many aspects. My visit to Nepal in August last year gave me the opportunity to witness first-hand the positive developments Nepal has made since the 2015 earthquake, which deeply affected the livelihood of the Nepali people. The outpouring of humanitarian support and sympathy from the people of Thailand to Nepal during that difficult time serves as a testimony of the true and longlasting friendship between our two peoples.
As we venture forward into the next decade of our bilateral relations, I am certain that our cooperation and partnership will be further enhanced in all dimensions, especially in such areas as technical cooperation, trade and investment, culture and tourism, as well as people-to-people contacts. On the multilateral level, Thailand will continue to work closely with Nepal in several international fora such as the United Nations, the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) and the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) to promote peace and prosperity in both our regions and beyond.
On this special occasion, I would like to extend my gratitude to all those who have dedicated themselves to promoting the bilateral relationship between Thailand and Nepal over the past six decades. I also wish to convey my best wishes to you and the people of Nepal for continued happiness, prosperity and success in the years to come.
Accept, Excellency, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration.
Don Pramudwinai
Minister of Foreign Affairs
of the Kingdom of Thailand
2. Congratulatory Message from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal:
On the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the Kingdom of Thailand, I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to Your Excellency and the people of Thailand.
I am happy to note that 60 years of formal relationship between Nepal and Thailand have always been cordial and friendship. Our bilateral relations are based on mutual trust, understanding and cooperation. Buddhism and Buddha’s eternal messages have shaped the way of life of our peoples.
I would like to recall Your Excellency’s visit to Nepal in August 2018 to participate in the 4th BIMSTEC Summit where we agreed to promote regional cooperation in a meaningful way. Nepal and Thailand share similar views at UN and other various multilateral forums and have strong faith in multilateralism as in addressing global challenges. I believe that the bonds of friendship and close cultural ties existing between Nepal and Thailand will be further strengthened in the years to come.
I look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to further expand and consolidate our friendship and cooperation for the mutual benefit of our two countries and peoples.
Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
Pradeep Kumar Gyawali
Minister of Foreign Affairs
of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal
