เมื่อวันที่ 27 พฤษภาคม 2552 นายกษิต ภิรมย์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มี สารแสดงความเสียใจถึงรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศบังกลาเทศ กรณีพายุไซโคลน Aila ที่บังกลาเทศ ดังนี้
Excellency,
I am deeply saddened by the devastating damages caused by the Cyclone Aila in Bangladesh, In this moment of calamity, I wish to convey, on behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, our heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency and, through you, to the bereaved families and the affected people in south-western Bangladesh, I hope that the Government and the people of Bangladesh will soon be able to overcome this catastrophe, and wish Your Excellency every success in the relief and reconstruction efforts of flood-hit areas.
