ตามที่ได้เกิดเหตุแผ่นดินไหวในเขต Munggar และ Trashigang ทางภาคตะวันออกของภูฏาน เมื่อวันที่ 21 กันยายน 2552 นายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศภูฏาน ดังนี้

It is with sorrow that I learned about the earthquake in eastern Bhutan on 21 September 2009, which caused loss of lives, injuries and property damage.
I wish to extend to Your Excellency and the Bhutanese people my heartfelt sympathy and sincere condolences. Our thoughts are with all those who have suffered from the catastrophe. The Royal Thai Government wishes Your Excellency every success in your relief and rehabilitation efforts.

I am distressed to have learnt of the earthquake that resulted in the loss of lives and injuries as well as widespread property damage in Munggar and Trashigang Districts of Bhutan.
I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathy and sincere condolences, through Your Excellency, to the bereaved families who lost their love ones and to those injured in this catastrophe. I also hope that your Government’s rescue and rehabilitation efforts will rapidly relieve the plight of your people affected by the earthquake.
