กระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้นำส่งสารแสดงความเสียใจจากนายกรัฐมนตรีถึงนาย Yukio Hatoyama นายกรัฐมนตรีญี่ปุ่น และสารแสดงความเสียใจจากรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศถึงนาย Katsuya Okada รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศญี่ปุ่น ต่อการเสียชีวิตจากเหตุการณ์ความไม่สงบทางการเมืองในประเทศไทยของนักข่าวญี่ปุ่น ดังนี้

Excellency,
I have learned with profound regret and sadness of the death of Mr. Hiroyuki MURAMOTO, a Japanese television cameraman with the Reuters news service, on 10 April 2010 during violent clashes between armed anti-government protesters and Thai troops in Bangkok. On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, allow me to extend my sincere condolences and sympathy to Mr. MURAMOTO’s family and the people of Japan for this loss.
Rest assured, Your Excellency, that a thorough and exhaustive investigation into the causes and circumstances surrounding Mr. MURAMOTO’s unfortunate death is already underway. I also wish to reassure Your Excellency that the safety of foreign nationals remains our highest concern. My Government is determined to restore peace and the rule of law as soon as possible. It is my earnest hope that there will be a prompt return to political normalcy in Thailand.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of Mr. Hiroyuki MURAMOTO, a Japanese television cameraman with the Reuters news service, while on duty during violent clashes on 10 April 2010 in Bangkok. I know how difficult this must be for Mr. MURAMOTO’s family, friends and colleagues. Allow me to extend my sincere condolences and sympathy to them all for this loss.
All necessary arrangements have been made with the relevant authorities regarding the necessary documents for returning Mr. MURAMOTO’s body to Japan.
The Royal Thai Government is fully committed to carrying out a thorough and exhaustive investigation into the causes and circumstances surrounding Mr. MURAMOTO’s unfortunate death. Rest assured that the safety of foreign nationals remains our highest priority while peace and the rule of law are being restored in Thailand.
