นายอภิสิทธ์ เวชชาชีวะ นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้มีข้อความแสดงความยินดีถึงนาง Julia Gillardนายกรัฐมนตรีออสเตรเลีย ในโอกาสเข้ารับตำแหน่งใหม่ ข้อความดังนี้

Excellency,

On behalf of the government and the people of Thailand, I have the honour to extend to you my most sincere congratulations on your appointment as Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia. Your long and successful tenure in the Cabinet and as a Member of Parliament is a testament to the trust and confidence that the Australian people have in you and your leadership. I am confident that with your able leadership and extensive experience, Australia will continue to play a very active and constructive role at both regional and global levels.

I look forward to working closely with you and your government to further deepen our ties and widen our existing cooperation. I can assure you that my Government is determined to strengthen the partnership with Australia for the mutual benefits of our two countries and peoples.
