เมื่อวันที่ 17 สิงหาคม 2553 นายอภิสิทธิ์ เวชชาชีวะ นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายกษิต ภิรมย์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้มีสารแสดงความเสียใจถึงถึงนายลอเรนซ์ กองซี (Mr. Lawrence Gonzi)) นายกรัฐมนตรีสาธารณรัฐมอลตา และนายโทนิโอ บอก (Mr. Tonio Borg) รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสาธารณรัฐมอลตา ตามลำดับ ต่อการถึงแก่อนิจกรรมของศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ Guido de Marco อดีตประธานาธิบดีมอลตา เมื่อวันที่ 12 สิงหาคม ที่ผ่านมา ดังนี้
