ตามที่รัฐสภาโซมาเลียได้มีมติเห็นชอบการแต่งตั้งนาย Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke เป็นนายกรัฐมนตรีคนใหม่ของโซมาเลียนั้น นายกรัฐมนตรีได้มีสารแสดงความยินดีถึงนาย Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke ดังนี้

I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency, on behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand, my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on your recent appointment as the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

Thailand and Somalia have enjoyed cordial relations for more than three decades since the establishment of our diplomatic relations. As Thailand remains committed to fostering closer ties with Somalia in areas of mutual interests, I stand ready to work with Your Excellency for the mutual benefit of our two countries and peoples.
