The Landscape Lighting Book
by Janet Lennox Moyer
Explains both the technical and creative aspects to lighting a landscape, making an outdoor area usable at night, and lighting plants indoors. Well illustrated with diagrams and photographs, many from Moyer's own award-winning designs. Considers such issues as avoiding conflicts with other design elements, the characteristics of materials and surfaces, setting locations and levels, and preventive maintenance. Also includes a list of products and vendors. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland
Using the Ortho Lighting Book
This book is one of the best low cost resources to use in the early discussions of exterior lighting with your clients. By showing them different styles of lighting design you can get a sense of their tastes. I strongly recommend buying several copies to have around the office so when trying to explain what "moonlighting" is a copy will be handy saving you lots of explaining. The book has lots of examples of both good and bad lighting design. Below is some comments on specific pages.
